Description Claudin18.2 (CLDN18.2) CHO-K1 Cell Line Claudins are a family of proteins that maintain tight cell junctions. Claudins have different subtypes expressed on different tissues. Claudin 18 isoform 2 (CLDN18.2) expression in normal tissues is restricted to cells of the gastric mucosa. And CLDN18.2 is absent from other healthy tissues. However, 70% of primary gastric adenocarcinomas and its metastases show CLDN18.2 expression. A number of other cancers, including pancreatic (50%), esophagus (30%) and NSCLC (25%) also show the CLDN18.2 expression. The restricted expression makes Cldn18.2 a potential drug target for the treatment of gastric and pancreatic adenocarcinoma, evidenced by efforts in targeting CLDN18.2 via naked antibody and CAR-T modalities.
